Yeong Hui is a lawyer in the field of labour and employment matters and a Partner at Chooi & Company + Cheang & Ariff. He was called to the Malaysian bar in 2006 before he ventured to Singapore and was called to the Singapore bar in 2012. After spending about 4 years in Singapore he returned to Malaysia.

Yeong Hui’s practice touches all aspects of employment law. He frequently appears in the Courts in employment disputes. He handles unfair dismissal claims, acting for both employers and employees. He has also appeared in Courts representing clients in restrictive covenant cases and other employment related disputes.

Yeong Hui has assisted with review of employment contracts, handbooks and policies as well as confidentiality and proprietary information agreements. He regularly advise his clients on managing out and disciplining of their employees to ensure minimum exposure to the clients. Further, Yeong Hui provides advice on retrenchment and right-sizing exercises.

His practice also encompasses advising on personal data protection, occupational health and safety and trade union related laws. Yeong Hui is also experienced in assisting clients with internal investigations and advising clients on compliance programmes designed to reduce the risk of breaches by employees and sanctions by authorities.
